Role Overview

NatWest Group is seeking a Software Engineer at associate vice president level.

The role involves building and maintaining innovative, customer-centric, secure, robust, and high-performance solutions.

The engineer will work within a feature team and collaborate with engineers, architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer complex software, scripts, and tools within a feature team.
  • Produce complex and critical software rapidly and to a high quality standard.
  • Own the full lifecycle from development through enhancement, maintenance, replacement, or decommissioning.
  • Design, produce, test, and implement working code.
  • Work across requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operations.
  • Collaborate to optimize software engineering capability.

Required Experience

  • Background in software engineering, software design, and architecture.
  • At least four years of experience with Python and large language models.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages or low-code toolsets.
  • Experience with DevOps, testing, Agile methodology, and associated toolsets.
  • Experience solving highly complex, analytical, and numerical problems.
  • Experience applying programming best practices for scalability, automation, virtualization, optimization, availability, and performance.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in agentic architecture or data science is preferred.
