Software Development Engineer II (Full Stack BE Heavy)

Role and team

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate checkout services and platform capabilities.
• Own work from requirements clarification and low-level design through APIs, data models, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Develop cloud-native microservices and integrate hosted data stores, caches, and streaming systems.
• Contribute to resilient, observable, high-performance tier-zero services, CI/CD, automated testing, and operational readiness.
• Help decompose legacy monoliths into reusable services with engineering, product, and partner teams.
• Use AI-assisted workflows and safely integrate AI/ML-enabled solutions where appropriate.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated ownership of services or features through the full development lifecycle in a cloud environment.
• Strong coding, problem-solving, and analytical skills; understanding of data structures, algorithms, and time/space complexity.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with microservices or service-oriented architecture on AWS or a similar cloud; Redis or other caches, DynamoDB or other NoSQL stores, and Kinesis or other messaging systems.
• Experience operating highly available, high-throughput, mission-critical services and applying observability, reliability, and incident-response practices.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, React, REST, or GraphQL.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems, AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, or production AI-powered capabilities.
