About the opportunity

PRI is a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm that builds internal business systems and technical applications on its Azure platform.

The Software Developer works under the Lead Full-Stack Developer, taking applications from scope to production and supporting what they ship.

Applications support business operations and help engineers and scientists complete technical work more efficiently.

Application development

  • Design, build, test, and ship internal web applications end to end, covering databases, APIs, and user interfaces.
  • Integrate ERP, CRM, HR, payroll, and Microsoft 365 systems through their APIs.
  • Deploy and operate applications on Azure App Service, Functions, SQL, and Entra ID single sign-on across test and production environments.
  • Use source control, CI/CD, and monitoring for deployed applications.
  • Work with HR, finance, operations, and commercial stakeholders to scope software and iterate on feedback.
  • Build technical applications with engineering and environmental teams, translating their methods and workflows into software.

Data, security, and maintenance

  • Handle data correctly across multiple legal entities and ensure documents show the right company name.
  • Protect employee and client data using role-based access, audit trails, and secure handling of sensitive records.
  • Write clear documentation and maintain code so another developer can continue the work.
  • Support and improve applications in production and help retire the third-party tools they replace.

Required qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years building and shipping web applications in a modern stack, such as C#/.NET or Node/TypeScript, React or similar, and SQL.
  • Hands-on third-party REST API integration experience, including authentication, pagination, and error handling.
  • Experience deploying and running applications in Azure or a comparable cloud, with Git workflows and CI/CD.
  • Solid relational data modeling and SQL skills.
  • Daily practical use of AI coding assistants and judgment to review their output.
  • Clear communication with non-technical users and ownership through feature adoption.

Preferred experience

  • Project-based ERP or CRM integration and internal business or workflow application experience are preferred.
  • Entra ID/Azure AD authentication, Microsoft Graph, Power BI, or Power Platform experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to engineering or scientific applications, calculations, data pipelines, GIS, geospatial data, field data capture, or document generation is preferred.
  • Exposure to professional-services or engineering firms and how they bill time is preferred.

Why PRI

  • The role offers greenfield work on an internal product roadmap used by colleagues across a growing firm.
  • The employer describes a small team with ownership, modern tooling, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and professional development support.

Work context

  • The posting names Mississauga, Ontario, but does not explicitly state an onsite, hybrid, or remote work arrangement.
