Role description

This is an intern role on CAE’s Developer Platform team; the specific mandate will be confirmed later based on priorities and squad assignment.

Possible initiatives include agentic AI, automation, development platforms, and improving software engineering practices.

Possible initiatives

  • Explore, prototype, or integrate agentic AI solutions to help developers understand code, automate tasks, analyze pipelines, or resolve issues.
  • Simplify software-team practices, tools, and processes to improve developer experience.
  • Collect, analyze, or visualize engineering performance data and identify opportunities for AI-assisted support.
  • Automate recurring operational processes to reduce manual work, improve reliability, and scale platform adoption.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, DevSecOps, secure delivery, and development, integration, deployment, or operations platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product owners to identify needs and propose practical improvements.
  • Prototype solutions that improve software-team productivity, quality, security, visibility, and actionability.

Candidate profile

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college program in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on exposure to software development concepts and at least one programming or scripting language, through coursework, labs, personal projects, or internships.
  • Basic practical experience with CI/CD, DevOps, software development platforms, or collaborative tools such as Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or Jira.
  • Some exposure to automation, scripting, integrations, APIs, operational improvements, and cloud, container, or infrastructure concepts.
  • Introductory familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift, Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Copilot, Azure, Artifactory, ArgoCD, or similar tools is described as desired.
  • Basic awareness or prior exposure to AI-assisted software development, software quality, cybersecurity, and platform engineering practices is desired.
  • The employer seeks curiosity, initiative, interest in technology and automation, and logical, creative problem-solving.
