Role purpose

Provide logistics, stores, and inventory support to maximise simulator and synthetic training equipment availability and operational readiness.

Control and track simulator spares, repairable assets, consumables, and associated equipment throughout their lifecycle.

Work with Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and external suppliers to support inventory accuracy, asset accountability, cost-effective stockholding, compliance, and equipment availability.

Inventory, stores, and asset control

  • Maintain accurate inventory, asset, and material records in TCMS, with effective control, traceability, and reconciliation throughout the inventory lifecycle.
  • Monitor stock levels and material risks, identifying shortages, obsolescence, and issues that may affect simulator availability.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions.
  • Maintain auditable simulator asset, component, and configuration-change records, ensuring accountability and lifecycle traceability.

Repairable assets and suppliers

  • Track repairable assets throughout repair cycles and maintain clear status visibility.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Procurement, suppliers, and repair organisations to identify and progress repair solutions.
  • Monitor repair turnaround, supplier performance, and material risks; escalate issues affecting operational availability.
  • Support evaluation of alternative suppliers and repair routes to improve availability, resilience, and value for money.

Procurement and logistics

  • Support procurement and lifecycle management with accurate inventory information and recommendations.
  • Help optimise stockholding, control costs, and mitigate material obsolescence risks; provide inventory and usage information for purchasing and material planning.
  • Process goods receipt, storage, issue, return, and despatch according to company procedures.
  • Prepare equipment and materials for shipment and coordinate transportation using approved carriers and service providers.
  • Support import and export activities in line with applicable regulatory, security, and company requirements.

Operational support and improvement

  • Ensure timely material availability for Maintenance and Engineering teams; prioritise logistics according to operational requirements.
  • Provide accurate inventory and material information to minimise equipment downtime and support training delivery.
  • Support audits, reporting, and performance monitoring for inventory, repairable assets, and supply-chain activities.
  • Improve TCMS use, inventory accuracy, material control, and logistics processes; investigate recurring material-support issues and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain performance information on inventory accuracy, stock availability, repair turnaround, and supplier performance.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Experience in stores, logistics, inventory, supply chain, or material-support operations.
  • Experience using computerized inventory and/or asset-management systems.
  • Good understanding of inventory control, including stock reconciliation, traceability, and discrepancy investigation.
  • Ability to analyse material-related issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to manage competing needs and work with technical teams, managers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a cross-functional team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems.
  • Commercial awareness of the relationship between inventory management, equipment availability, and cost.

Additional role conditions

  • Some local travel is required for equipment movements, supplier engagement, repair activities, and inventory management.
  • Occasional flexibility is required for urgent operational needs and changing priorities.
  • The role involves control, handling, and movement of high-value, operationally critical equipment.
  • Strict compliance with applicable security, safety, export-control, and information-management requirements is essential.
