Position Overview

New Capital FC is seeking a talented **SME Lending Accountant** to join our dynamic finance team.

In this role, you will manage the accounting functions for SME lending products, ensuring accurate transaction processing, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards.

The SME Lending Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of SME clients by helping monitor, track, and analyze loan portfolios while delivering key insights that support the organization’s strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • **SME Loan Accounting**: Oversee and manage the full accounting cycle for SME lending products, including loan disbursements, interest accruals, repayments, and reconciliations.
  • **Financial Reporting**: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for SME lending portfolios, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • **Loan Performance Tracking**: Monitor the performance of SME loans, including tracking payment schedules, outstanding balances, interest rates, and loan performance metrics.
  • **Compliance & Regulation**: Ensure that all lending transactions comply with local regulatory standards, accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP), and New Capital FC's internal policies.
  • **Profitability Analysis**: Conduct financial analysis to assess the profitability of SME loans, providing recommendations to optimize terms, conditions, and pricing.
  • **Risk Management**: Collaborate with risk management teams to assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the quality and stability of the loan portfolio.
  • **Forecasting & Budgeting**: Assist with forecasting and budgeting for SME lending products, helping to set financial targets and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
  • **Client Support**: Work closely with relationship managers to assess SME clients' financial health and ensure that lending products meet their needs while maintaining profitability.
  • **Audit & Reporting**: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary financial documents, ensuring transparency, and maintaining the integrity of the lending operations.
  • **Process Improvement**: Recommend and implement improvements to the SME lending accounting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial services, with a focus on SME lending or banking operations.
  • Solid understanding of SME lending products, including loans, lines of credit, and interest-bearing accounts.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of local financial regulations and compliance requirements in Qatar, specifically in the banking and lending sectors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable insights from financial data.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or related qualifications would be an advantage.
