About This Role
Role Objective
To design, implement, and lead underwriting and portfolio risk management for SME lending products in the UAE, ensuring disciplined capital deployment, strong asset quality, and scalable credit governance for digitally-native SME borrowers.
1. End-to-End Underwriting Ownership
- Lead underwriting for Invoice Discounting, Revenue-Based Financing, and Inventory Financing
- Conduct deep bank statement and cashflow analysis
- Prepare structured credit memos with clear approval/decline rationale
- Maintain underwriting turnaround time within internal SLA
2. Credit Framework Development
- Build segment-wise underwriting frameworks tailored for digitally native businesses
- Define limit sizing methodology based on digital cashflow behavior
- Establish sector exposure caps and concentration thresholds
- Develop early warning trigger matrices
- Continuously refine credit filters to balance growth and risk
Required Experience
- 5–10 years in SME lending / NBFC / fintech underwriting
- 3+ years of UAE SME Lending exposure
- Strong experience in cashflow-based lending
- Experience underwriting digitally native businesses
- Exposure to fintech or high-growth lending environments
