Site Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical designs, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, calculations, and other mechanical submissions.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Coordinate across teams to meet project goals, schedules, and budgets; troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and inspectors; ensure compliance with UAE codes and authority regulations.
• Implement sustainable engineering practices; prepare technical reports and stakeholder presentations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, contractors, and suppliers, and improve processes for efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Over 12 years of experience, including substantial engineering consultancy experience and familiarity with UAE building codes and regulations.
• Track record in on-site supervision, project coordination, and management of mechanical works across construction projects.
• Advanced mechanical engineering knowledge, including heat load and sizing calculations; strong understanding of HVAC, piping, and industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software; familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Commitment to sustainable engineering and energy-efficient design; ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within the UAE.
