Site Materials Lead

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead warehouse receipting, manifesting, inspection, storage, and materials and equipment control.
• Ensure warehouse materials staff understand procedures and are trained.
• Deliver project materials and HSE standards, including standards for warehouse employees.
• Lead the Engineering-to-Materials interface and coordinate deliveries with Construction and Procurement against the project schedule.
• Manage site and warehouse receipt, storage, issue, and preservation; lead marshalling and issue against ISOs or job cards.
• Attend project and subcontractor progress meetings and liaise with project personnel and client representatives.
• Produce materials status reports, maintain AMUSE data integrity, and ensure subcontractor materials follow Wood’s MMCP.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Materials Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Typically 15+ years of relevant materials, warehouse, logistics, or construction supply chain experience, including substantial major EPC/EPCM project experience.
• Site-based materials leadership on large-scale oil and gas, gas processing, petrochemical, energy, or industrial infrastructure projects.
• Experience with complex construction interfaces, multiple contractors, high-volume bulk materials, long-lead equipment, and demanding schedules.
• Strong understanding of materials receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, inventory control, issuing, and reconciliation.
• Experience managing warehouses, laydown areas, materials personnel, and subcontractor interfaces.
• Experience with project ERP and materials systems; SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms are named as preferred options.
• Working knowledge of construction work packages, material take-offs, piping and mechanical materials, electrical and instrumentation equipment, and bulk commodities.
• Familiarity with quality documentation, traceability, preservation requirements, and project HSE standards.
• UAE or wider GCC experience, particularly on large gas processing or brownfield/greenfield energy projects, is advantageous.
