Construction leadership and execution

Safety, quality, and interfaces

  • Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications, inspection plans, quality requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate technical queries, design discrepancies, and constructability issues with engineering teams.
  • Manage contractor, vendor, facility, and operations interfaces, including applicable brownfield work, tie-ins, shutdowns, and SIMOPS.
  • Oversee construction materials and equipment, high-risk work, environmental controls, and contractor performance.

Reporting and handover

  • Review progress, manpower, equipment utilization, productivity, look-ahead schedules, and constraints; report issues and recovery actions.
  • Support project controls and commercial teams with construction records and input on variations, change orders, disruption, and time extensions.
  • Maintain construction, inspection, permit, progress, equipment, punch-list, as-built, and handover records.
  • Drive mechanical completion, punch-list clearance, system handover, and readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Promote continuous improvement, lessons learned, mentoring, and effective teamwork across the site organization.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or another relevant engineering discipline; equivalent technical qualifications with extensive demonstrable experience may be considered, subject to project requirements.
  • At least 20 years of relevant industry experience, including senior construction management on major oil and gas or gas processing projects.
  • Knowledge of ADNOC standards, project specifications, HSE requirements, quality systems, applicable UAE regulations, and relevant international construction codes.
  • Knowledge of planning, scheduling, resource and productivity management, contract administration, risk management, and project execution.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documents, schedules, method statements, risk assessments, and quality records.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Technical skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Primavera P6, progress measurement, project reporting, and electronic document management systems.
  • Relevant HSE, construction management, or project management certifications are advantageous; engineering registration or professional membership is desirable.
  • English communication, written and spoken, is essential; additional project-relevant languages are advantageous.

Work setting

  • The position requires extended site presence at Habshan, field inspections, construction coordination meetings, and occasional extended working hours.
  • A valid UAE driving licence may be required depending on project and site-access arrangements.
