Site Inspector (Civil)

Role purpose

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of postgraduate structural site supervision experience and at least 3 years of UAE/GCC building construction experience.
• Experience on commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use, or high-rise developments.
• Experience in data centre projects is advantageous; consultancy experience is preferred.
• Good understanding of reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, UAE building codes, structural standards, and construction methodologies.
• Professional membership is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural works and concrete elements, including foundations, pile caps, footings, retaining walls, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, and suspended structures.
• Check reinforcement before concrete placement; witness concrete pours and field testing, including slump tests and cube sampling.
• Monitor formwork, falsework, temporary works, structural steel fabrication and erection, and bolted and welded connections.
• Verify materials against approved submittals; review contractor quality records, inspection requests, and testing documentation.
• Identify and report defects and non-conforming work; assist with observation reports, non-conformance reports, information requests, and snag lists.
• Monitor corrective actions, coordinate multidisciplinary inspections, attend relevant meetings, and maintain daily site diaries.
• Support handover inspections and report technical issues to the Senior Site Engineer.
