Role overview

Restaurant service

• Follow Fairmont service standards and maintain professional, warm interactions with guests and colleagues.
• Know menu items, ingredients, garnishes, preparation methods, beverages, and promotions; answer guest questions informatively.
• Correct service errors promptly with solutions that exceed guest expectations.
• Know assigned service stations, side duties, restaurant equipment, and shift-end procedures.
• Handle cash and non-cash transactions, deposits, and due backs according to procedure.
• Attend pre-meal briefings and regular meetings to improve guest experience.

Safety and hotel procedures

• Follow food and beverage safety and sanitation policies, hotel health and safety regulations, and recycling procedures.
• Follow telephone etiquette and the hotel Code of Ethics; report suspicious people, parcels, or behavior to Security.
• Meet punctuality, uniform, and grooming standards and support positive working relationships.
• Carry out additional manager-assigned duties related to restaurant service quality.

Qualifications

• At least one year of food and beverage operations experience in a luxury property is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organization, and planning skills are required.
• English proficiency in speaking and writing; a second language is an asset.
• Guest-service skills, professional presentation, and sophisticated communication skills are required.
• Must handle multiple tasks in a changing environment and be flexible about working hours.
• International experience is an asset; an energetic, self-motivated, goal-oriented team player is sought.
