Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide attentive, personalized food and beverage service.
• Present menus, explain offerings, recommend items, and take and process orders accurately.
• Communicate special requests and dietary requirements to relevant team members.
• Serve efficiently and maintain knowledge of menus, promotions, ingredients, and beverages.
• Anticipate guest needs; respond to feedback and complaints, escalating concerns when appropriate.
• Maintain clean, organized tables, service areas, and equipment; assist with opening, closing, mise-en-place, and replenishment.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, stewarding, and other departments for smooth service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and hotel standards.
• Promote additional offerings where appropriate and support outlet revenue.
• Support colleagues, attend training, and develop product and service knowledge.

Qualifications and requirements

• Food and beverage operation experience is an asset; luxury hotel or upscale restaurant experience is preferred.
• Point of sale system experience is an asset but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality qualification is an advantage.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable, professional, guest-focused, and able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
