Senior Technical Product Engineer

Role Summary:

The Technical Product Engineer - AWS SRE serves as the strategic product and technical leader responsible for defining, prioritizing, and driving the development of AWS-based reliability engineering products, platforms, and automation capabilities that improve operational excellence across the enterprise. The role would combine technical depth with product leadership to bridge business and engineering needs; partner with application teams, architects, SRE engineers, and security to identify gaps, build roadmaps, and deliver scalable solutions that reduce toil, enhance resiliency, and improve observability; leverage AWS expertise, AI technologies, and agentic workflows to create intelligent, autonomous operations that are trustworthy, explainable, and safe. This role is pivotal in bridging technical depth with strategic product thinking to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in the reliability space. You will own and drive the technical roadmap, collaborate across functions, and ensure delivery excellence with a focus on continuous improvement and customer-centricity.

Key Responsibility:

Define AWS SRE product strategy and roadmap aligned with business goals; identify reliability challenges and transform them into scalable products and capabilities

Conduct stakeholder interviews across application, cloud, operations, and leadership teams; prioritize investments by business value, operational impact, risk reduction, efficiency, and AI readiness

Establish product success metrics, KPIs, and organizational reliability engineering standards and best practices

Create, prioritize, sequence, and maintain the product backlog ensuring stories are well-defined and sprint-ready

Translate product vision into actionable technical initiatives, epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria

Balance delivery between new features, technical debt resolution, and maintenance activities

Identify opportunities for automation, self-service capabilities, resiliency, observability, governance, and operational efficiency

Define new AWS SRE products, leverage AI by identifying where automation is and where human judgment is required

Contribute to architectural design, API standards, integration frameworks, and non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability)

Oversee resolution of production issues, own business impact prioritization and maintain clear stakeholder communication

Monitor sprint execution, mitigate blockers, and drive retrospectives to improve team velocity

Evaluate emerging AI technologies and techniques for application in reliability engineering and platform automation

Design, prototype, and productionize AI-powered capabilities using GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, MCP, agentic architectures) to address SRE challenges like incident detection, predictive alerting, and root cause analysis

Ensure AI-powered solutions are secure, explainable, observable, cost-efficient, and compliant with enterprise governance standards

Lead product initiatives from ideation through implementation and adoption and work closely with architects and engineering teams to ensure alignment between product vision and technical implementation

Coordinate development, testing, rollout, training, and adoption activities across teams

Track and analyze engineering KPIs, release velocity, defect density, and system health to drive continuous improvement

Act as the primary liaison between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership

Run roadmap discussions and product demonstrations; Communicate product strategy, investment priorities, risks, and progress to senior leadership with executive-level presentations

Influence cross-organizational strategic initiatives and manage dependencies within and across portfolios

Partner with development teams to improve operational readiness and reliability maturity

Promote AI-first reliability best practices and drive adoption of AWS native capabilities and cloud best practices

Help establish standards related to SLOs/SLIs, observability, incident management, operational excellence, automation, and reliability engineering
