The Senior Technical Engineer supports engineering activities and project documentation and ensures construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, project documents, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and technical submissions.
- Support project and site teams, coordinate with project stakeholders, and resolve technical issues and discrepancies.
- Ensure construction compliance with approved documentation, standards, and project requirements; prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and engineering documents.
- Attend technical meetings; support inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover; assist with proposals, variations, and project documentation.
- Monitor technical deliverables and schedules, and guide junior engineers and site personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and at least 7 years of relevant construction, contracting, or related experience.
- Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or Technical Engineer; UPDA/MMUP registration is required.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, construction methods, and applicable standards; proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Strong technical documentation, communication, coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills; ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Preferred skills
- Qatar or GCC experience is advantageous.
