The Senior Technical Architect leads technical and design coordination for high-end interior fit-out projects.
The scope includes joinery, glass, metal works, architectural finishes, and MEP integration from tender and BOQ stage through execution and handover.
The role serves as the primary technical interface among consultants, clients, project teams, subcontractors, factory teams, and site teams.
Technical Coordination
- Lead technical coordination for architectural finishes, joinery, glass, metal, and MEP systems.
- Review BOQs, specifications, tender documents, IFC drawings, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate shop drawings, detailed technical drawings, ceiling layouts, builder’s work drawings, and as-built documents.
- Manage SD logs, material submittals, RFIs, sample approvals, and technical tracking schedules.
- Ensure technical feasibility, constructability, compliance, and interdisciplinary clash resolution.
Project Delivery
- Oversee detailed joinery, glass, and metal works coordination, including bespoke architectural elements.
- Ensure MEP services integrate correctly with ceilings, joinery, architectural finishes, and interior elements.
- Coordinate client and consultant reviews, approvals, technical comments, and design revisions.
- Coordinate fabrication details with factory production teams and suppliers.
- Conduct site inspections and support resolution of technical and site-related issues.
- Monitor technical progress and support milestones, handover requirements, value engineering, and alternative technical solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical field.
- 7–12 years of high-end interior fit-out and technical coordination experience in the UAE or GCC.
- Experience with luxury commercial, hospitality, retail, workplace, F&B, and residential fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of fit-out construction methods, fabrication processes, and site execution.
- Experience with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and authority approvals.
- Ability to manage technical coordination independently from design through completion.
- Ability to manage multiple fast-track projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency and technical drawing review skills.
- Strong understanding of shop drawing production, detailing standards, and technical documentation.
- Ability to review BOQs, specifications, contracts, and IFC drawings.
- Strong MEP coordination and ceiling/service integration knowledge.
- Knowledge of Dubai/UAE authority regulations, QA/QC documentation, and fit-out approvals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- Revit, SketchUp, or BIM coordination knowledge is advantageous.
Additional Requirements
UAE driving license is preferred.
Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, consultant standards, QA/QC requirements, and health and safety procedures.
Mentor and guide junior technical staff, coordinators, and draftsmen where applicable.
Prepare technical reports, progress updates, coordination records, and management presentations.
