Role overview

Responsibilities

• Translate mission requirements into system requirements with stakeholders.
• Manage change requests and notices affecting system engineering requirement documents.
• Recommend ways to address requirements gaps and update requirement specifications.
• Align requirements specifications and management strategies with cross-functional teams.
• Report status and metrics for high-level requirements, compliance, and traceability.
• Guide engineering teams on deriving, tracing, and reporting requirements and compliance.
• Assess technical issues with technical personnel and develop strategies to address them.

Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in systems, communications, space systems, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Formal, standards-based systems engineering experience and expertise are required.
• Candidates must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.

Additional skills

• Requirements management software experience with JAMA or DOORS is required; JAMA is preferred.
• Space mission, satellite communications, or aerospace requirements experience is an additional skill.
• Familiarity with ECSS or NASA space-based or defence systems engineering processes is an asset.
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience or familiarity is an asset.
• Schedule and technical deliverable management, communication, leadership, teamwork, and collaboration abilities are listed.
• Ability to present complex ideas to a general audience, maintain excellent work products, and manage several issues simultaneously.
