Telesat seeks an experienced Solutions Architect for end-to-end architecture across BSS, enterprise data platforms, analytics, and AI.
The role bridges business and technology, drives modernization, defines target-state architectures, and supports scalable, secure, maintainable enterprise solutions.
Architecture and BSS responsibilities
- Define architecture standards, patterns, reference architectures, blueprints, diagrams, integration patterns, and technical roadmaps.
- Lead architecture design for business initiatives and transformation programs; govern architecture through project reviews.
- Design and integrate CRM, product catalog, CPQ, order management, provisioning, billing, customer care, and revenue assurance solutions.
- Modernize legacy BSS platforms and translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
Data, AI, and integration responsibilities
- Define data strategies for lakes, warehouses, data mesh, master data, and metadata; design API, ETL/ELT, event-driven, and streaming integration.
- Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and security, and support real-time and batch analytics.
- Architect AI-enabled solutions, RAG, and enterprise knowledge systems; establish AI governance, security, privacy, and responsible AI controls.
- Design API-first, microservices, event-driven, and cloud-native architectures; ensure interoperability across enterprise and partner systems.
Governance and leadership
- Mentor development teams and solution architects, establish technical best practices, and participate in technology planning and vendor evaluations.
- Support procurement, RFP reviews, and technical due diligence; collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers on production AI deployments.
Experience requirements
- 9+ years in software architecture, enterprise architecture, or solution architecture roles.
- 5+ years architecting telecommunications, satellite, cable, or utility BSS ecosystems.
- Experience delivering large-scale enterprise transformation programs and designing cloud-native, distributed architectures.
Technical skills
- BSS: CRM, CPQ, billing, order management, Salesforce, Netcracker BSS, telecom product catalogs, and service orchestration concepts.
- Data: Databricks, Azure Data Platform, Snowflake, SQL Server, data lakes, ETL/ELT, and data integration.
- AI: OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LLMs, RAG, AI orchestration frameworks, and machine learning platforms.
- Integration and cloud: REST APIs, GraphQL, SOAP, Kafka, Event Hub, API gateways, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
Desired qualifications
- TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent certification is desired.
- Enterprise governance and compliance, cybersecurity, IAM, SOX controls, data privacy, AI governance, Agile, DevOps, or SAFe experience is desired.
