Product Manager - Connectivity Services
Role Overview
The Product Manager contributes to Telesat Lightspeed connectivity products and progressively owns and scales value-added services.
The initial focus is Point of Interconnect and Internet connectivity, followed by services such as cloud interconnect, SD-WAN, and security overlays.
The role works with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and ecosystem partners.
The position is expected to be onsite at Telesat headquarters at least four days per week.

Connectivity portfolio and PoI
- Contribute to Layer 2 and Internet connectivity product definition and evolution with existing product managers.
- Align product requirements with PoI capabilities and plan for extension through value-added services.
- Participate in roadmaps, program-of-record activities, and cross-functional reviews.
- Own requirements for public and private PoI options and interconnectivity with cloud providers, data centers, and internet exchanges.
- Develop PoI-based service models and work with Engineering and Operations on scalability and fulfillment readiness.
- Engage cloud, colocation, internet exchange, and terrestrial carrier partners on interoperable, viable solutions.
Value-added services ownership
- Own assigned services from concept and business case through launch and in-life evolution.
- Lead requirements for IP services, VPNs, segmentation, traffic engineering, QoS, resiliency, cloud connectivity, and security overlays.
- Define integration with enterprise WANs, SD-WAN platforms, and cloud networking for hybrid satellite-terrestrial architectures.
- Maintain service roadmaps aligned with connectivity capabilities and commercial priorities.
Cross-functional and commercial work
- Act as a product subject-matter expert for Sales, solution architecture, and customer engagement teams.
- Support complex enterprise opportunities with solution design, service descriptions, and commercial constructs.
- Work with Engineering and Operations to reflect product intent in implementation, automation, and operational processes.
- Contribute to pricing, service schedules, and SLA frameworks.
- Use customer feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence to refine product positioning.
- Ensure offerings meet enterprise expectations for reliability, security, and global scalability.
Required experience and expertise
- Experience in product management, solutions architecture, network engineering, or technical commercial roles within telecom, networking, cloud, or managed services.
- Experience with enterprise connectivity, interconnect, or cloud-based networking services and ability to work across technical, commercial, and operational domains.
- Strong IP networking and Layer 3+ foundation, including routing, VPNs, traffic management, or SD-WAN overlays.
- Strong Carrier Ethernet foundation, including MEF service models, attributes, and operational considerations.
- Experience with ground interconnect, PoI, data centers, internet exchanges, cloud connectivity, and terrestrial backhaul.
- Familiarity with enterprise cloud networking and hybrid connectivity models.
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into customer-centric products and define service constructs, SLAs, and commercial frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Security eligibility
- Must be eligible to process Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance if working in the Ottawa office.
- US applicants must be able to obtain ITAR clearance.
