Senior Structural Engineer - Site

Position summary
Manage technical review of structural engineering submissions during construction and ensure compliance with contract requirements, design intent, standards, and local regulations.
The work includes reinforced concrete, structural steel, and themed entertainment projects, including attraction structures, show sets, facades, and specialty support systems.
Serve as the primary technical focal point for structural matters and coordinate with other project disciplines.
Technical review and coordination
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, temporary works submissions, and contractor calculations.
- Review design proposals, alternatives, and calculations for reinforced concrete, structural steel, precast, secondary steel, and specialty structures.
- Verify compliance with IFC drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and design intent.
- Review value engineering proposals and provide recommendations to the Resident Engineer and Client.
- Coordinate with architecture, MEP, infrastructure, façade, theming, landscape, and ride engineering teams; resolve clashes and participate in technical reviews.
- Review interfaces between structural systems and themed elements, show sets, ride systems, special equipment, and architectural features.
Theming and construction support
- Review structural supports for themed facades, artificial rockwork, scenic elements, show action equipment, attraction structures, and specialty installations.
- Coordinate with theming contractors and ride vendors to confirm structural compatibility and compliance with approved designs.
- Assess support frames, secondary steel, themed cladding supports, and suspended themed elements; support reviews of mock-ups, prototypes, and fabrication submissions.
- Guide site supervision teams on structural construction activities and propose solutions to site-related structural issues.
- Review field changes and construction deviations for impacts on structural integrity; help resolve construction and coordination issues.
- Prepare timely technical comments, assess variation requests and claims, and participate in change management and design development reviews.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, project specifications, international codes, and authority requirements.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities when structural approvals or clarifications are required.
