Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize secure, scalable systems, including queueing architectures and SQL and NoSQL storage.
• Build secure backend services and agents using JavaScript or other object-oriented languages.
• Develop feedback loops for AI agents and guide platform architecture and feature development.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand needs and iterate quickly.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship; raise delivery risks proactively.
• Participate in Scrum, automated unit testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and Git-based version control.
• Join rotational on-call and coordinate incident response within and across teams.

Basic qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience focused on cloud platforms and large-scale systems.
• Experience with Azure services, queueing systems, SQL databases, and NoSQL solutions.
• Experience with Node.js, C#, Java, C++, or Go.
• Experience building AI agents and prompt engineering.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding assistance or code generation.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, microservices, and APIs at scale.
• Experience applying object-oriented methodologies and design patterns.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge or experience in high-scale, highly available systems.
• 3+ years of professional experience building complex, scalable applications.
• Problem-solving ability and curiosity to learn new technologies and toolsets.
• Experience with Node.js technology stack and various databases.
• Familiarity with microservice architecture and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Care about high-performance, reusable code for shared product components.

Work arrangement

• Hybrid role with a required office location and a weekly expectation of at least two in-office days; frequency may vary by team.

Pay and incentives

• California base salary range: $164,700 to $266,000; Washington base salary range: $158,300 to $232,575.
• Eligible for a company bonus plan and restricted stock units.
