Role overview

Senior individual-contributor software engineering role in DocuSign's B2B engineering organization, reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering.

Designs and delivers backend platform capabilities for Intelligent Agreement Management and Contract Lifecycle Management products.

The Ingestion and Telemetry team develops agreement ingestion flows and standardized telemetry and monitoring for B2B services.

Platform engineering

  • Lead design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support for B2B services, APIs, and telemetry pipelines.
  • Build services and APIs using C# or TypeScript/Node.js, including shared platform components and telemetry libraries.
  • Evolve cloud-native microservices using Azure, containers, and modern deployment practices for scale, availability, and resilience.
  • Own ingestion and synchronization flows, including agreement documents, attribute mapping, historical backfill, and event pipelines.

Telemetry, operations, and collaboration

  • Define standards for metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks across B2B Platform.
  • Lead or participate in high-severity incident response and postmortems; use RCA to improve reliability, performance, and cost.
  • Partner with product, architecture, SRE, CLM, IAM, and data teams to align designs and deliver shared integrations.
  • Drive code reviews and engineering standards; mentor early-career engineers in telemetry, distributed systems, and platform thinking.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years building production software using object-oriented languages such as C#, Java, or TypeScript/Node.js.
  • 4+ years designing, building, and operating cloud-native microservices or APIs at scale, including CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL stores, data modeling, distributed systems, production troubleshooting, and observability.
  • Experience owning platform features end to end and working across teams; experience in on-call rotations for critical services.

Preferred experience

  • Preferred experience with Microsoft technologies and Azure services such as AKS, App Services, Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL, or equivalent AWS/GCP technologies.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with observability stacks, telemetry, ingestion or event pipelines, and shared platform components.
  • Preferred experience with high-severity incident RCAs, SRE practices, and iterative agile delivery.

Work arrangement

  • Hybrid designation: employees divide time between office and remote work, with an office location required and a minimum expectation of two in-office days per week.

Compensation

  • California base salary range is $164,700–$266,000 per year; ranges differ in other listed states.
  • The role is eligible for a company bonus plan and restricted stock units, subject to applicable terms.

Benefits

  • Benefits include paid time off, parental leave, health plans, retirement programs, learning and development, and compassionate care leave.
