Position overview

Senior Software Engineer (Level 18) focused on platform and integration within Risk & Corporate Services.

Acts as a technical decision owner, designing, integrating, and governing platform-based solutions in an enterprise and increasingly AI-enabled environment.

Emphasizes orchestration, integration, and decision ownership; success is measured by system outcomes and resilience, not code volume.

Supports responsible automation and AI use with clear accountability, traceability, enterprise alignment, and risk controls.

What you will do

  • Design and integrate solutions across enterprise platforms and services for scalability, maintainability, and alignment with EDC standards.
  • Own architectural integrity and integration decisions; evaluate technical trade-offs and guide automation versus human oversight.
  • Ensure AI-enabled capabilities are implemented safely and responsibly, with accountability for outputs.
  • Review and validate AI-assisted code, designs, and workflows for accuracy, reliability, and standards alignment.
  • Develop secure, scalable, performant solutions, including APIs, cloud-native components, and integrations.
  • Ensure reliability, support defect resolution, and proactively manage quality and risk.

Compensation

  • Salary typically ranges from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, depending on qualifications and experience, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location and work arrangement

  • Hybrid work environment with a current requirement of three days per week; this requirement may change.
  • Role may be performed from the Ottawa headquarters or a Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval, or Brossard.
  • Relocation assistance is available to candidates who meet eligibility criteria.

Team and organization

EDC's Digital & Technology Solutions group delivers secure and reliable digital experiences and supports the organization's business transformation.

The group works on an integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity roadmap and keeps pace with emerging technologies.

Benefits

  • EDC describes a competitive compensation and benefits package, work-life balance, paid vacation, corporate closure period, summer early Fridays, learning opportunities, wellness programs, and community engagement.

Application deadline

  • Application deadline: October 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Requirements

  • Senior-level software engineering capability for designing, integrating, and governing platform-based enterprise solutions.
  • Ability to make and own technical and integration decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and align solutions with platform and business objectives.
  • Ability to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise standards and risk controls.
  • Ability to apply AI-enabled capabilities responsibly, with accountability and traceability for outputs.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted code, designs, and workflows for accuracy, reliability, and standards alignment.
