Senior Software Engineer

Position

Role responsibilities

• Understand technical requirements and write clean, high-quality code following development principles and best practices.
• Learn the domain and develop deep product-area knowledge.
• Design and implement maintainable, scalable, thoroughly tested solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production system issues, including critical issues outside normal business hours.
• Analyze non-functional requirements and address functional and non-functional system needs.
• Partner with cross-functional teams for consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Conduct design and code reviews and offer improvement feedback.
• Assist with team members' technical and professional growth.
• Maintain collaborative relationships and confidentiality of company and customer information.

Experience and technical qualifications

• At least five years of software development experience, including at least two years of expert-level C# .NET.
• Expertise in RESTful APIs is required.
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL or SQL and front-end frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or Bootstrap.
• Excellent understanding of object-oriented analysis and design; experience in domain-driven design and microservices.
• Familiarity with code quality and coverage tools such as SonarQube or JaCoCo.
• Expertise in unit/performance testing frameworks and test-driven development practices.
• Ability to design components for business and technical requirements and apply design principles and patterns.
• Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity and comfort with agile software development principles and practices.

Preferred and additional experience

• UML experience is a plus, including creating class, sequence, ER, activity, or use-case diagrams.
• Leading software development project teams is a plus.
• Large-scale distributed, event-based architecture experience is a plus.
• AWS or Azure experience is a plus.
• Unit testing frameworks and test-driven development experience are also described as desirable.
