Role overview

What you will do

• Build and operate secure, scalable, high-performing digital experiences and reusable design-system components, blocks, and templates.
• Establish component architecture, APIs, documentation, versioning, and contribution standards; ensure accessibility, performance, SEO, security, localization, analytics, and content-authoring needs are met.
• Integrate Adobe products, APIs, identity, content, forms, analytics, and enterprise services; implement automated testing and quality practices in CI/CD.
• Use AI coding agents responsibly and define guardrails for generated code, including validation, traceability, security, intellectual-property protection, and human review.
• Own solutions from design through deployment, observability, incident resolution, and improvement; partner across teams, coach engineers, review code, and measure outcomes.

Requirements

• Related post-secondary degree or equivalent education and relevant professional experience; at least 7 years of hands-on software development, including enterprise delivery and operational ownership.
• Advanced JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, modern web development, and component architecture; experience with Adobe Edge Delivery Services, Adobe Experience Manager, or a comparable platform.
• Experience with enterprise design systems, component libraries, design tokens, responsive interfaces, and UX specifications; knowledge of WCAG, Core Web Vitals, SEO, browser compatibility, and secure development.
• Experience with APIs, JSON, content services, analytics, experimentation, identity, forms, and enterprise integrations; professional use of AI coding tools with sound security and review practices.
• Strong automated testing, Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, and cloud-delivery skills; ability to own production solutions and collaborate across technical and business teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Adobe Edge Delivery Services, Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Web SDK, Analytics, Target, or Adobe Developer certifications are a plus.
• Figma, design-token workflows, Storybook, design-system governance, enterprise AI-agent configuration, content migration, modernization, or replatforming experience are advantageous.
• Working knowledge of Python, C#, cloud-native services, containers, or Kubernetes; Azure Developer, DevOps, Security, or AI certifications; financial-services or regulated-industry experience are advantageous.

Workplace and location

• Hybrid work environment, currently requiring three office days per week, subject to change.
• Role may be based at EDC headquarters in Ottawa or a Community Hub in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, or Vancouver.

Compensation

• Software Engineer 18 salary typically ranges from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experience, plus a performance-based incentive.
