Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of highly available, scalable, secure server-side applications.
• Collaborate across teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and deliver software products.
• Develop backend systems for high-volume transactional and payment-related workflows.
• Build and maintain resilient integrations with external platforms and service providers.
• Mentor junior engineers and share engineering best practices.
• Optimize existing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement automated unit and integration tests.
• Champion code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve reliability.
• Participate in recruitment interviews and hiring evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software-development experience with backend systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong ability to design high-performance and concurrent applications.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of transactional reliability, data consistency, idempotency, concurrency, and failure handling.
• Software testing knowledge, including unit and integration testing.
• Ability to lead projects, collaborate across teams, and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience with relational databases and messaging or event-driven technologies is advantageous.
• FinTech, payments, banking, e-commerce, or high-volume transactional experience is an advantage.
