The Digital, Data and Technology directorate designs, builds, and runs services and technology used by businesses and colleagues.
The role builds and operates robust, maintainable software across the full development lifecycle in a multidisciplinary agile team.
Main responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain software and services to agreed architecture and coding standards.
- Develop and support software across development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production.
- Translate user needs and designs into working software and improve services using evidence and feedback.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs, web applications, microservices, and containerised applications.
- Investigate incidents, resolve root causes, improve reliability, and maintain delivery pipelines.
- Review code, share knowledge, support colleagues, and improve engineering practices.
Essential criteria
- Strong experience developing REST APIs and/or web applications using Python and Django, with SQL experience; this is the lead criterion.
- Experience designing, building, and supporting microservices and containerised applications; the source text ends before completing the technology details.
