Team and platform

The Air Supply Organization builds airline connectivity for Expedia's partner platform.

The platform integrates airline content through direct connections, NDC, and GDS sourcing, and serves travel products to users.

The described technology ecosystem includes Java, Kotlin, Spring, MSSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis; it processes over 50 Tier-1 services and more than 8 TB of data monthly.

In this role

  • Design and maintain highly available services, applications, APIs, and data models.
  • Deliver features from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production optimization.
  • Improve code quality, observability, incident rates, performance, and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers and share software, testing, and architecture practices.
  • Collaborate across product, design, data, and engineering teams on reusable solutions.
  • Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of backend software development in an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin.
  • End-to-end service or component ownership, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Strong programming and engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, testing, and version control.
  • Hands-on API design and consumption, data models and storage, and system design for reliable, maintainable services.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with high-traffic distributed architectures and technical direction for scalability, reliability, performance, and cost.
  • Operational excellence experience, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and production improvement.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven systems and safely integrating AI/ML features.
  • Experience leading cross-team initiatives or migrations, influencing engineering practices, and mentoring engineers.
