Senior Road Engineer (Mega Civil Project)

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Control technical aspects of road works and coordinate with discipline specialists and quality-control personnel.
• Resolve design issues or coordinate them with home-office support; advise on design changes.
• Oversee contractor technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and design submissions.
• Review contractor drawings, schedules, and material submittals for compliance with project design objectives.
• Assess and report on value engineering proposals.
• Serve as point of contact between the Road Engineering department and the Technical Manager.
• Coordinate road-work quality control, drawing revisions, value engineering, and construction-method revisions and follow-up.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Road Design specialty, or equivalent work experience.
• Formal qualifications or affiliation to RICS, IQS, ICES, or CIOB.
• Over 15 years of applicable project management experience, particularly on mega construction projects, mainly as a consultant; exclusively contractor experience is not accepted.
• Experience on at least one road project and design experience; candidates without clear road experience will not be considered.
• Understanding of construction, design, and engineering principles, plus local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills; teamwork, problem solving, autonomy, flexibility, social skills, and technical rigor.
• Willingness to work in a multinational environment.
• Transferable Iqama if not Saudi and valid SCE membership.
