Senior Resident Engineer - Site (Highrise project)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site engineering activities and ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain timelines.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans, and technical submittals.
• Inspect the site and conduct quality checks against design specifications and local building codes.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on-site.
• Prepare progress reports, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with authorities and regulators to obtain permits and approvals.
• Maintain safety protocols and optimize construction processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years as a Resident Engineer or Senior Resident Engineer on high-rise projects, with at least 20 years of total experience.
• Contract management and oversight skills are required.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality control, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Project management experience delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of local building codes in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and team-mentoring abilities; able to work under pressure and adapt.
• English fluency is required; Arabic is a plus.
• A PE license or equivalent and PMP certification are preferred.

Workplace

• The role is based on-site for a high-rise construction project in Dubai.
