We are seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer with strong experience on Abu Dhabi projects and Hospitality Projects on the consultancy level to join our team for a luxurious mixed-use project in Abu Dhabi.
This role will involve managing the construction process ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 5 years
- In a senior leadership role
- Strong background in Horizontal projects and Hospitality Projects
- Strong Experience on Abu Dhabi Projects
- Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, claims management, and value
- engineering
- Familiarity with local and international building codes and regulatory standards
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage large-scale projects effectively
Job Description And Main Tasks
- To act as, and to fulfil the duties of the Engineer/Lead Consultant with regards to assigned duties, delegated authority and be directly responsible to the Employer during the construction of the works
- Manage deployment of resources to create project team capable of effectively completing the project with best quality standards. Monitor cost aspects of the supervision contract, forecast final costs, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns
- Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project
- Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes
- Review all shop/working/as-built drawings, design proposals, method statements, material submissions, any requests for information relating to the works with in the contract. Ensure accuracy, completeness of records and compliance to project KPI for document turnaround
- Coordinate with Client/Project Manager, the Contractor and concerned Authorities. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in meetings in support of clients.
- Work with the key project individuals to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work
- Advice the client and company management of any such changes
- Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria
- Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established
- Ensure prompt response to Contractor and Client correspondence
- Monitor the closure of all identified risks and opportunities. Visibly support risk identification and mitigation throughout the project
- Generally, supervise, review, monitor and report on progress of the works. Report to the management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule
- Report back as necessary to the Chief Executive Officer/Construction director
- Participate in contract administration, apply value engineering and give final approval to works and arrange for handover
Hse
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site
- Convene and chair regular site meetings
Client Relationship
- Establish, maintain and build healthy client relationships. Proactively resolve performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise. Identify, document, communicate and meet the client's requirements
Team And Site Management
- Listen to the team, discuss the issues, resolve problems and direct activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives
- Coordinate team leave requests and cover requirements with respective discipline leads
- Ensure Client/Project Manager is notified of any project site staff leave absences
- Monitor performance or project site staff and report any disciplinary issues arising as per protocols
- Monitor attendance hours and rosters. Ensure arrangement of overtime inspections and records for re-imbursement from Client/Contractor
- Review and sign off timesheets on weekly basis
- Review, record and assist in a billing Client for sub-consultant services if applicable
