Role Overview

Join a technology team building AI-powered healthcare software supporting critical clinical workflows.

Establish and lead a next-generation quality engineering practice combining test automation with AI-driven testing.

Own QA strategy, architect testing infrastructure, and build scalable frameworks ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and clinical experts to translate requirements into quality standards.

Accountabilities

  • Own the end-to-end QA strategy, test plans, risk-based coverage targets, quality gates, and release readiness criteria.
  • Evaluate, select, and document the testing technology stack across UI, APIs, integrations, performance, accessibility, and security.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, and integrations.
  • Automate coverage of critical healthcare workflows including triage, clinical documentation, orders, and patient discharge.
  • Develop load, stress, and soak tests simulating emergency department usage and peak traffic.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with parallel execution and AI-assisted test impact analysis.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and resolve defects with root-cause analysis.
  • Lead exploratory testing and contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness.
  • Use LLMs to transform user stories and clinical specifications into test scenarios and edge cases.
  • Leverage AI coding agents and Playwright MCP for test planning, generation, and healing.
  • Establish privacy-safe synthetic patient records and clinical scenarios for testing.
  • Build evaluation frameworks for AI features using golden datasets, scoring rubrics, and regression gates.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional QA or software testing experience, including a minimum of 3 years developing automated testing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, risk-based testing, test design techniques, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript and working knowledge of Python.
  • Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks, preferably Playwright, with Cypress or Selenium also considered.
  • Regular, practical use of AI coding agents in test engineering.
  • Understanding of how LLM applications can fail and experience evaluating non-deterministic outputs.
  • Practical performance testing experience with Locust, k6, JMeter, or comparable tools.
  • Solid experience testing APIs and integrations.
  • Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
  • Understanding of secure testing practices and protecting sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in healthcare technology or regulated clinical software, particularly EHR, EDIS, or ONC Health IT certification testing.
  • Familiarity with HL7 v2, FHIR, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM evaluation and AI observability tools such as Promptfoo, DeepEval, Ragas, Langfuse, or LangSmith.
  • Experience building MCP servers, custom AI agents, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of Playwright MCP and AI-driven test planning, generation, maintenance, and healing.
  • Experience with performance tools such as Locust or k6 and security tools such as OWASP ZAP.
  • Experience with accessibility testing, WCAG standards, visual regression testing, and axe-core.
  • Familiarity with AI security testing, prompt-injection assessment, red-teaming, and OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications.
  • Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact and healthcare interoperability interfaces.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation aligned with UK working hours.
  • Remote flexibility supporting work-life balance.
  • Global collaboration with diverse professionals.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Career progression opportunities.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage.
  • Opportunity to shape a modern QA practice with AI coding agents and automation frameworks.

Workplace

  • Remote flexibility with work aligned to UK working hours.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile, distributed teams across time zones is required.
