Senior Project Engineer - Industrial Refrigeration

Role overview

Project engineering and delivery

• Coordinate engineering activities and technical deliverables across project phases.
• Control and monitor projects for profitability, accuracy, schedule, contractual scope, and customer expectations.
• Develop and review detailed engineering deliverables, technical submittals, design briefs, and sequences of operation.
• Review internal and supplier documentation, IFC and shop drawings, and design changes; clarify technical issues with project stakeholders.
• Track material submittals and support supplier and subcontractor technical evaluation and procurement.
• Resolve site engineering issues, guide installation, and manage interfaces among design, procurement, QA/QC, and site execution.
• Support inspections, NCR resolution, workmanship verification, and engineering risk mitigation.
• Complete testing and commissioning documentation and support start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Report engineering progress weekly, support recovery plans, and prevent technical deviations, rework, and delays that affect margin.

Pre-sales and aftermarket support

• Review tenders, conduct site surveys and technical meetings, prepare initial calculations and system concepts, and select industrial refrigeration equipment.
• Estimate system component costs and prepare cost books, quotation text, and process flow diagrams.
• Provide engineering support for retrofit and upgrade projects involving existing refrigeration systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Refrigeration Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification.
• At least five years executing and managing industrial refrigeration and/or large-scale commercial refrigeration, industrial, MEP, or EPC projects.
• Proven project engineering, design coordination, and site technical support experience.
• Experience with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, technical interfaces, testing and commissioning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and Windows operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor; able to create and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
• Able to handle complex projects independently and collaboratively, lead teams, and communicate effectively.
• Strong organization, detail orientation, time management, prioritization, ownership, and accountability.

• Use CAD systems to create and interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings.
• Prepare and review testing and commissioning documentation and readiness reviews.
