Role purpose
Oversee and optimize plant production for efficient, safe, and cost-effective manufacturing.
Lead production operations, resolve process issues, improve processes, and support production capacity, cost, and continuous-improvement goals.
Production and improvement
- Optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste and downtime, increase output and yield, and improve equipment utilization.
- Coordinate production schedules with operations and logistics to meet customer demand, targets, and inventory levels.
- Ensure product quality and work with quality control on issues and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot equipment, process, and material issues; lead root cause analysis and lasting solutions.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, process data, KPIs, and metrics to improve performance and track results.
- Explore technologies to increase capacity, improve quality, and reduce costs.
Safety, leadership, and projects
- Promote safety and ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and quality requirements.
- Support risk assessments and hazard analyses, including HAZOP, and implement risk mitigations.
- Supervise and mentor production staff; set expectations, give feedback, and identify training needs.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and supply chain.
- Lead or support capital projects for production enhancements, equipment installation, and process upgrades.
- Manage production budgets, track spending, identify savings, and report cost variances.
Reporting and documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports on trends, efficiency, quality issues, and improvement work.
- Maintain documentation for production changes, maintenance, safety inspections, and quality control in line with company and industry standards.
Experience
- Candidates should have 10–20 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Soda Ash and Calcium Chloride plants is preferred.
