Job Summary
The Senior Procurement Engineer manages the sourcing and purchasing of technical goods and services for projects and operations.
The role focuses on cost efficiency, supplier reliability, and timely delivery while meeting technical and quality requirements.
This position also supports digital transformation by using data analytics and AI tools to improve procurement processes and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with project needs and budgets.
- Work with engineering and project teams to ensure correct technical specifications.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Lead contract negotiations to achieve the best commercial terms.
- Ensure all procurement activities meet technical and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the full procurement cycle: requisitions, RFQs, purchase orders, and delivery follow-up.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality or delays.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
- Support digital and AI-based procurement initiatives.
- Guide and support junior team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HSE standards, and sustainability goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement, sourcing, and contract negotiation.
- Good understanding of technical/engineering requirements.
- Analytical skills for cost evaluation and supplier assessment.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and digital tools.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years in procurement or supply chain.
- At least 6 years in a senior or leadership role.
- GCC experience is an advantage.
- Experience with digital or AI-based procurement tools is preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
- Professional certification (CIPS, CPSM, or similar) is a plus.
- Training in digital or AI tools is an advantage.
