Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining comprehensive project schedules for complex engineering and construction projects.

This role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in industry-standard planning software.

The Senior Planning Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget by providing accurate progress tracking, forecasting, and risk analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual requirements.
  • Establish and maintain the project baseline schedule, monitoring progress against the baseline and identifying any deviations or potential delays.
  • Conduct critical path analysis to identify and highlight potential schedule risks and opportunities, proposing mitigation strategies to the project team.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports, including S-curves, earned value analysis, variance analysis, and look-ahead schedules, to project stakeholders and management.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate progress data and integrate it into the master schedule.
  • Perform 'what-if' scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of changes, delays, or accelerations on the project schedule and overall completion.
  • Assist in the development of recovery plans and acceleration strategies when projects fall behind schedule.
  • Participate in risk assessment workshops and integrate identified risks into the project schedule, developing contingency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company project control procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior planning engineers and project control staff.
  • Review and analyze contractor schedules and progress reports, providing feedback and ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Support claims analysis by providing detailed schedule delay analysis and impact assessments.
