Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Horizontal Boring Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC horizontal boring machines to produce high-quality, precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with various materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring machines, including loading programs, adjusting offsets, and selecting appropriate tooling.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code programs to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensions.
  • Verify machine settings and program parameters to ensure optimal performance and adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs to ensure parts meet specified tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to maintain production schedules and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, tooling, and programming.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure machine longevity and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve product quality.
  • Document production activities, including completed work, scrap rates, and machine downtime.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.

Requirements

✔ Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

✔ Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances

✔ Knowledge of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges

✔ Good understanding of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds

✔ FANUC Controller Experience Preferred For Turn-Mill Operators

✔ Experience in Shipyard, Heavy Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Projects is an advantage

✔ Strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork
