The Senior Planner leads project planning, scheduling, and progress control across construction projects.
The role owns baseline schedules, critical path and delay analysis, EOT support, and guidance of a planning team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project; establish baselines, critical paths, milestones, and completion dates.
- Prepare short-, medium-, and long-term plans and look-ahead schedules; monitor progress and forecast completion dates.
- Collect and verify project progress data and prepare weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and schedule analyses.
- Perform critical path and delay analysis and prepare EOT documentation; assess impacts of variations, design changes, approvals, and site constraints.
- Develop recovery, mitigation, and contingency plans; track manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commercial, and subcontractor teams; lead planning discussions with clients and consultants.
- Guide junior planners, implement planning procedures and reporting formats, and advise senior management on critical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of planning and scheduling experience on construction, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Expert Primavera P6 skills; good command of MS Project and MS Excel.
- Experience in baseline development, progress monitoring, delay analysis, and EOT claims.
- Strong understanding of CPM, resource loading, and earned value.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
