The role influences partnership priorities, engagement approaches, resource allocation recommendations, and the institutional Hire UCalgary partnership model.

Work-integrated learning partnerships

  • Identify and cultivate industry and community connections to expand work-integrated learning opportunities, including co-operative education, internships, practica, service-learning, and project-learning.
  • Conduct outreach, build relationships, qualify opportunities, and bring recommendations to the Manager.

  • Maintain inventories of partners, agreements, opportunities, programs, and program requirements.
  • Develop partner onboarding materials, guides, and standard communications.
  • Research partnership trends, labour market needs, and sector opportunities; recommend partnership and program growth.
  • Represent the office at networking events, employer information sessions, and community engagement activities.

International exchange partnerships

  • Monitor agreement terms, renewal and expiry timelines, and reciprocity and balance data; flag agreements requiring review, renewal, or termination.
  • Analyze utilization, reciprocity, engagement, and partnership performance metrics.

Role requirements

  • Independently determine engagement strategies within the Manager's strategic direction and use professional judgment to prioritize work and resolve complex stakeholder issues.
  • Work with academic units, faculty, industry and community organizations, international institutions, and campus partners.
  • Manage concurrent deadlines related to academic terms, exchange cycles, and partner reporting.
  • Occasional events or communications outside standard business hours may be required, including across international time zones.
