Senior Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems across multiple MEP projects.
• Plan, monitor, and supervise site activities to ensure project milestones and delivery schedules are achieved.
• Manage and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and material utilization to optimize project performance.
• Ensure all mechanical installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation to support project execution.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to resolve site-related technical issues.
• Facilitate timely approvals and ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate project risks that may impact progress, quality, or budget.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, project specifications, and international engineering standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and safety requirements are consistently maintained.
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
• Support value engineering initiatives to improve project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for all mechanical systems.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure successful project closeout, including preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, commissioning reports, and handover documentation.
• Support defect liability period activities and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
• Monitor project costs and support commercial teams in managing variations and claims.
• Assist in project planning, forecasting, and resource management to ensure projects remain within budget.
• Provide regular progress updates and reports to project management and senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in MEP project execution and site management, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
• Proven experience delivering HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting works on large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of UAE authority regulations, engineering standards, and MEP execution practices.
• Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, testing & commissioning activities, and project handovers.
• Strong understanding of project planning, engineering coordination, material approvals, and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
• UAE driving licence is preferred.
