Senior Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical designs and coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Prepare and review quotations, variations, and material and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, the main contractor, and the consultant.
• Prepare coordinated detailed shop drawings for submission and site coordination.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, and contractors.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and project participants and collaborate with Senior Engineers on efficient methods and project profitability.
• Conduct site inspections when required.
• Lead work independently, manage multiple assigned projects, and work under pressure.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of MEP contracting knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering design and analysis.
• Design software knowledge, such as Autodesk Revit (MEP) or AutoCAD.
• A valid UAE driving license is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with accuracy in calculations and design.
• Ability to work independently on assigned scopes.

Education

• Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Workplace

• Work location is in person; site visits and inspections may be required.
