Senior Mechanical Engineer

Role overview

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical designs and coordinate and monitor assigned engineering projects.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Prepare or review quotations, variations, material submittals, and technical submittals.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, the main contractor, and the consultant.
• Prepare coordinated, detailed shop drawings for submission and site coordination.
• Perform engineering calculations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and contractors.
• Work with project participants to improve methods and maintain project profitability.
• Conduct site inspections when required; lead work independently and manage multiple projects under pressure.

Candidate requirements

• At least 10 years of MEP contracting knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of design software such as Autodesk Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD.
• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering design and analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical and critical-thinking skills, and accuracy in calculations and design.
• Ability to work independently on assigned scope and manage multiple projects under pressure.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred; a valid UAE driving licence is a plus.

Work arrangement

• Work location is in person; the role includes site visits and inspections.
