Project and role

The role supports a major Saudi Arabian mixed-use development with sports, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure.

Leads portfolio-wide systems engineering for interface, integration, and configuration management across the project lifecycle.

Supports safe, integrated transport systems, regulatory compliance, and technical approvals from design through construction, handover, and operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop interface- and configuration-management strategies, processes, and tools across the portfolio.
  • Support project processes and milestones in line with schedules and standards, and report progress to the director of systems engineering.
  • Coordinate with safety, certification, and regulatory leadership to support authority approvals.
  • Advise teams on interface management and traceable configuration control; define consistent supply-chain systems-architecture requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate integration activities; lead interface identification, analysis, implementation, and validation.
  • Lead configuration management and ensure configurations are controlled, recorded, and suitable for each delivery stage.
  • Support early-career colleagues and coach teams and suppliers on standards, best practice, and delivery readiness.
  • Help identify and manage delivery-related carbon emissions and reductions in support of net-zero transition.

Requirements and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, computer, or systems engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Recognised professional membership and Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent.
  • 10–15 years of relevant land-transport design, construction, and/or operations and maintenance experience.
  • Significant experience developing and managing interface-management plans, tools, techniques, and deliverables.
  • Detailed configuration-management understanding across staged-delivery transport projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of railway assets, safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices, such as EN 50126.
  • Strong understanding of smart-city frameworks and sustainable-design principles.
  • Middle East experience and experience with systems architecture, configuration-management, or interface-management tools are advantageous.
  • Saudi visa criteria and relevant high-value project/programme experience with a project-management consultancy are required for immigration and client approval.

Standards and disciplines

  • Project processes and analysis may follow ISO 15288, EN 50126/29, and EN 50716.
  • The degree must be in an electrical, electronic, computer, or systems engineering discipline.

Workplace and flexibility

  • The posting is marked onsite.
  • Part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options may be discussed if suitable for the role.
