  • In this role, your key responsibilities include

  • Manage and oversee the end to end operational and technology‑enabled custody and settlement framework for digital asset products including cryptocurrencies, tokenised securities, stablecoins and other blockchain‑based instruments, ensuring accurate execution, settlement, safekeeping and lifecycle management across approved platforms.
  • Establish, maintain and enhance detailed operational procedures, custody models and control standards covering wallet provisioning, transaction processing, reconciliation and asset segregation in line with approved policies, technology architecture and security governance.
  • Manage accountability for the private key lifecycle management framework, including secure key generation, storage, access, rotation, backup and recovery mechanisms implemented using Hardware Security Modules and Multi‑Party Computation architectures, ensuring effective controls for multi‑signature wallets, hot and cold wallet configurations, access entitlements and approval hierarchies.
  • Lead operational readiness for new digital asset launches and platform integrations, provide operational oversight for token issuance, redemption and lifecycle events, and manage service level agreements with external digital asset custodians and platforms to ensure resilience, security and regulatory alignment within the approved operating model.
  • Establish and operate comprehensive monitoring and reporting frameworks for digital asset custody operations, covering transaction flows, blockchain confirmations, reconciliations, settlement finality, exception handling and service performance across supported platforms
  • Ensure timely and accurate production of operational, risk and management information reports that provide transparency over balances, movements, breaks, incidents and control effectiveness

  • Analyse operational data and trends to identify control gaps, operational risks and improvement opportunities, and provide clear insights and recommendations to Treasury management, Risk, Compliance and other stakeholders to support informed decision making and continuous enhancement of the digital assets operating environment.
  • Manage operational risk for digital asset custody and settlement activities by implementing and maintaining effective control frameworks aligned to the bank’s risk, incident and escalation standards.
  • Ensure custody, settlement and wallet‑related processes operate within approved risk tolerances through controls over private key access, transaction approvals, segregation of duties, system resilience and third‑party dependencies.
  • Proactively assess and address risks arising from new products, technologies, counterparties and regulatory developments, ensuring effective implementation of applicable CBUAE requirements, UAE digital asset regulations and internal policies.
  • Support internal and external audits, risk assessments and regulatory reviews by providing detailed process documentation, control evidence, incident analysis and remediation actions to strengthen the overall control environment and reduce operational risk exposure.
  • Manage and coordinate relationships with internal stakeholders across Treasury, Technology, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Product teams to identify operational, control and technology gaps and implement corrective actions within agreed governance and delivery frameworks.
  • Act as the senior operational representative for digital asset custody matters in engagements with auditors, regulators and external service providers, ensuring issues are addressed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
  • Govern third‑party custody and technology service providers by overseeing onboarding, ongoing due diligence, service performance monitoring and issue resolution to ensure continued alignment with contractual, operational and regulatory requirements.
  • The ideal candidate should have the following experience:
  • At least 7 years of experience in Financial Operations, with at least 4 years in Digital Assets related roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Technology or a related discipline.
