Senior Java Engineer role on the Technology team, building and maintaining scalable, high-quality systems for business-critical platforms.
Requires strong technical expertise, engineering judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and contribution to delivery and engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems using Java 18+, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
- Design REST APIs and backend services aligned with domain-driven design and clean architecture.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage applications on Azure, including AKS and Microsoft SQL.
- Automate Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and release workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product teams on end-to-end solutions.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor application performance and reliability; implement proactive improvements and observability practices.
- Apply current software and Azure practices to improve scalability and maintainability; mentor team members and influence best practices.
Experience and technical requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java 18+, Spring Boot, and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with Azure Cloud Services or a similar platform; hands-on Azure DevOps or similar for version control, pipelines, and deployments.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous programming, and SQL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker containers, and modern deployment strategies.
- Understanding of secure coding and API authentication using OAuth2 or OpenID Connect.
Preferred skills
- Terraform, Bicep, or other infrastructure-as-code tools; event-driven architecture or message-based systems.
- Unit testing and test automation frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or Moq.
- Monitoring and observability tools such as Application Insights or Log Analytics.
- Background in financial services, legal tech, or enterprise systems is advantageous.
Location and shift
- The posting states a location in Pune.
- Shift time is 12 PM–9 PM IST.
