Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Audit the full EPC project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, and project close-out.
• Review project budgets, cost reports, revenue recognition, variations, claims, change orders, and financial performance.
• Audit procurement, subcontracting, vendor management, payments, contract compliance, and approval processes.
• Compare physical project progress, engineering deliverables, and schedules with financial reporting.
• Review BOQs, MTOs, engineering documentation, project cost data, and internal controls.
• Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies, and root causes; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare audit reports and management presentations, and monitor corrective action plans to timely closure.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15 years of internal audit experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, engineering, construction, or large project-based organizations.
• Hands-on experience auditing EPC projects across their lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of project cost control, procurement, subcontracting, contract management, financial reporting, and risk management.
• An Engineering qualification or strong EPC project exposure is highly desirable.
• CIA, CPA, CISA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification is an advantage.
• Exposure to ISO/QMS and compliance frameworks is desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and audit reporting and communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with Finance, Commercial, Procurement, Project Management, Construction, and Operations teams.
