The role develops strategies, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes a safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead HSE strategy development and execution for construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with UAE and international HSE standards and regulations.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with construction activities.
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor HSE performance and compliance.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments; lead incident investigations.
- Define and monitor HSE KPIs and report to project leadership and management.
- Promote safety through training and engagement initiatives.
- Integrate HSE requirements into project execution with project teams.
- Ensure environmental controls and waste management practices are implemented.
- Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance and safety culture.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in HSE, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant HSE experience, focused on construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and risk management.
- Proven experience managing HSE teams and contractors.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Ability to influence and drive behavioral change toward a proactive safety culture.
- Experience in incident investigation, audits, and corrective action management.
- Familiarity with emergency preparedness and crisis response strategies.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, including cross-functional work.
