  • The **Senior Hairstylis**t is responsible for delivering expert hair services, including cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments, while ensuring an exceptional client experience.
  • This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership in mentoring junior staff, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, staying up to date on industry trends, and promoting retail sales.
  • The Senior Hairstylist is expected to be a role model within the team, demonstrating professionalism & teamwork.
  • Adheres to company policies and SOP’s.

1. Hair Services & Treatments

  • Perform professional haircuts, coloring, styling, blow-dries, and specialized treatments (e.g., keratin, extensions, balayage).
  • Conduct thorough client consultations to understand their needs and provide expert recommendations.
  • Stay updated on the latest hair trends, techniques, and products.
  • Ensure all hair services meet the salon’s quality and client sa3sfac3on standards.

2. Hygiene & Safety Compliance

  • Maintain the highest level of sanitation for all tools, equipment, and workstations.
  • Follow local health and safety regulations and salon policies.
  • Properly dispose of used materials and adhere to infection control procedures.

3. Client Care & Experience

  • Greet clients warmly and create a professional, welcoming environment.
  • Provide professional advice on hair care, styling, and maintenance.
  • Address and resolve client concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance at all times.

4. Retail & Upselling

  • Educate clients on hair care products, recommending suitable retail items.
  • Actively promote salon services, special promotions, and membership programs.
  • Work toward achieving personal and team retail sales targets.

5. Team Leadership & Professional Development

  • Mentor and support junior hairstylists and apprentices to help them develop their skills.
  • Lead by example in customer service, technical skills, and professionalism.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Foster a positive and supportive team environment.

6. Housekeeping & Maintenance

  • Ensure styling stations and salon areas are always clean and well-maintained.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to management.
  • Follow salon opening and closing procedures as required.

The Senior Hairstylist will be evaluated on the following key performance indicators:

  • Reaching Sales expectations pertaining to service, retail and membership targets
  • Ensuring addi3onal KPI’s such as rebookings, upsells, u3liza3on and average service ticket are met
  • Constant Development of Job and Product Knowledge
  • Actively participate in training and stay updated on hair industry trends, techniques, and products.
  • Show steady progress in technical skills and client service.

  • Ensure attention to detail and care in all hair services.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of client care and styling techniques.

  • Maintain reliable and punctual attendance.
  • Minimize unplanned absences and adhere to the salon’s scheduling policies.

  • Build a relationship with clients to encourage repeat business.

  • Wear appropriate salon attire and ensure impeccable personal hygiene.
