Role overview

Senior SAP functional specialist for Project Systems, bridging technical implementation and business needs.

Supports a multi-year digital transformation, SAP implementation, upgrades, and ongoing support, including review of third-party design proposals.

Ensures SAP solutions are effective, efficient, and aligned with business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Link process challenges and demand to improvements and business benefits that inform solution and technology strategies.
  • Validate consistent process design, deployment, performance standards, and end-to-end compliance.
  • Work with business stakeholders and delivery teams to implement and test solutions as designed.
  • Maintain design oversight from programme delivery into live operations; identify process improvements.
  • Collaborate with process leads, super users, functional specialists, project managers, business analysts, architects, and third parties.
  • Translate business needs into IT demand aligned with programme plans and roadmaps; analyze process flows for improvement opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing user support, troubleshooting, process recommendations, and initial L1 help for process and procedure queries.
  • Support user capability development and collaborate on testing to validate solutions against business requirements.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least four years of experience.
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting SAP Project System (PS).
  • Experience integrating project planning with Oracle Primavera P6 schedules.
  • Experience managing project structures, WBS elements, budgets, costs, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting capital projects, engineering, construction, or infrastructure programmes.
  • Experience aligning project progress with financial performance and improving project processes with business stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, end-to-end business processes, functional configuration, and system integration.
  • Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Systems and domain expertise

  • SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) and Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Project cost control, resource and schedule management, project planning integration, WBS, budgets, costs, and reporting.
  • SAP functional configuration, implementation, and support.

Workplace

  • Hybrid working, ideally from the Derby office.
