Role and team

Mozilla Finance supports strategic resource allocation and day-to-day financial operations as the company scales.

The Senior Financial Analyst, Core Services supports recurring planning, reporting, and analysis across the Core Services portfolio.

The role reports to the Finance Manager, Core Services, and works with teams across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Prepare each Core Services forecast cycle in Pigment, validate cost center inputs, reconcile with the prior cycle, and document changes and drivers.
  • Prepare monthly budget updates with variances to plan, drivers, and open items for budget owners and the COO.
  • Work with Accounting through monthly close, tying out actuals, accruals, and forecast and resolving coding and timing issues at the source.
  • Maintain position-level headcount tracking and the headcount-to-plan bridge with People and hiring managers.
  • Monitor vendor and cloud spend, including purchase orders, commitments, renewals, and run-rate changes.
  • Carry Cloud Engineering cost information into Core Services and company reporting and review it for anomalies.
  • Use AI and automation to reduce manual work and improve forecast, close, and reporting processes.
  • Answer Core Services teams' data and reporting questions and escalate issues requiring a partnership discussion.

Core experience

  • Requires 5+ years in business unit FP&A, corporate FP&A, strategic finance, or comparable analytical finance work.
  • Requires hands-on experience through a full budget and forecast cycle, including close and variance analysis.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

Technical skills

  • Requires advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills, with attention to clean formulas, auditability, and accuracy.
  • Experience with enterprise planning tools such as Pigment, Adaptive, or Workday and accounting systems is required; NetSuite is preferred.
  • Requires grounding in accounting fundamentals, including accruals and monthly close.
  • Requires enough familiarity with cloud cost or FinOps concepts to interpret technical reporting and question anomalies.
  • The role seeks interest in applying AI, automation, and systems thinking to recurring finance work.
  • Requires balancing competing priorities and cycle deadlines without loss of accuracy.

Communication and collaboration

  • Candidates should explain financial variances in actionable terms for non-finance audiences.
  • The role requires coordination with budget owners, the COO, Accounting, People, hiring managers, Cloud Engineering, and Core Services teams.
